Interiror types are basically the inside of the building. Most of your motion detectors will be this type. You can refer to the manual for the list of available names. Pick the ones closest to the purpose of the zone you are assigning it to. NOTE: Whenever plugging or unplugging any modules, be sure to remove power and the battery backup! No matter what port I plug it into.
So, I fire up my favorite terminal program putty, choose serial, leave it at COM1 and I do some googling and people are saying that if you have the GSM module installed, it disables port 2 and if you have the powerlink module installed, it disables port 1. I fired up the software again, and it appears to find it. More googling says the master download code is AAAA.
The first thing I noticed is that the terms seem to be backwards at least, to me. Normally, I sit on a PC and I upload data to a server and download data from a server..
But, in this case, it is the opposite. You upload data to your PC and download data to the panel. So I know the data is good. At this point, I will save my setup.
Now, go to your Zone Definitions config screen and change the name to your customized names. Techozoic by Jeremy Clark. I have checked through all the menus and cannot seem to pinpoint the problem for this line failure. Is there something simple that I am not doing? I don't have it connected to a landline, I only want it to communicate through the GSM module.
I hope someone can help! Guys, I have just installed the Visonic Powrmax Pro. And as there seems to be a lot of interest and questions for the Visonic Powermax, I wanted to start this Thread so that people can get an idea whether they want to go for this alarm. After a lot of research and help from this Forum, I finally plunged for this alarm. A friend of mine who is normally very good with all kinds of DIY stuff agreed to fit it for me.
The company I bought the alarm from very kindly pre-setup the Control Panel prior to sending everything out to me, which was the technical bit. This was a greatly welcome and needed service they offered. This cut out a lot of time and more importantly chances of not setting it up correctly. They also were absolutely brilliant in offering after-sales assistance too.
If anyone is thinking of getting an alarm, I will highly recommend them. So weekend gone we went about fitting it. The initial install was very straight forward. I, who am not at all DIY minded, did a bit of it myself but not the installation of the actual panel itself as chances are I may have fried myself!
