March 19, There's a lot to like about this in spite of a few flaws. November 14, A gadget unicorn - Engadget. May 30, It's a mouse. A very generic, standard mouse. It's not pretty, it's not not super ergonomic, but it does plug in and go. You get what you pay for, and that fine by me October 16, This mouse is smooth and easy to use.
Comes with Microsoft software for full customization. Wears well, and tracking is accurate. Scroll wheel is smooth and works well when depressed. Magnification mostly useless. Pros: Great accuracy. Comment: The mouse is alright. I bought it to replace my old Microsoft Intellimouse 1. The mouse is very comfortable to hold in the hand and performs accurately and smoothly for gaming. I found the magnification feature mostly useless.
Fortunately the software is quite good and I was able to change it to work as a back button for web-browsing or as a 4th mouse button for gaming. The scroll wheel is the mouse's real weakness. It tilts to the side to allow horizontal scrolling. I don't use this feature very much and it comes with a trade-off: the scroll wheel button is very difficult to click.
This makes it a poor mouse for Firefox middle-clicking to open new tabs and also a poor choice for games like Half-Life 2 with the scroll and click weapon select. The mouse lacks a button on the right side unlike previous Microsoft Mice. This is only a minor weakness though since the extra button really wasn't all that useful. Overall this is a great mouse for productivity and content creation.
It is a mediocre choice for gaming, however. Comment: Got this mouse free when bought keyboard on sale. I have no complaints to mouse which came free. Works great. Has all the function keys. Love the zoom button. Cons: Mouse wheel does not click well I use the middle click often in Firefox Pros: Somewhat oversized so very comfortable to handleHigh resoloution dpi making it very responsiveZoom-in buttonFour way scrollingVery responsive scrolling.
Comment: Great mouse for the price. Very comfortable to use for long periods. Great shape for gaming. The only draw back that I find is that the wheel mouse does not click well and feels overly big under my finger.
Cons: the scroll wheel mouse click is a bit hard to catch Pros: great feelnice left and right clicksvery convenient 4th button on the side of the thumbcan work for both left and right handslooks nicecan do left and right mouse scroll.
Comment: I got this free when I purchased the comfort curve keyboard. I loved the keyboard, and obviously wanted to try the mouse that's made for that keyboard. Mouse feels great, and I love the feel of the click! Has great control and convenient magnefying button to view things that are too small. Very nice design for the left and right scrolls. By reading the surface it's on accurately and not requiring excess pressure, it delays whatever therapy I might have to seek in the future.
Maybe not at all, either, given the responsiveness of its tracking system and button action. I keep recalling the old Microsoft mouse, which had a ball inside it. The ball turned tiny rollers inside the mouse, and the rollers ended up with fuzz on them, making the mouse progressively more irritating to use.
It was then that I realized that whenever the rollers got gummy and needed to be cleaned, I would be holding the mouse with all my might, which is not a Good Thing. This mouse, moreover, has been designed to fit not only left- and right-handed people, but also to work with just about any computer still running, including Apple Macintosh machines running OS X There is a downside to all this extra sensitivity, however. The mouse skids so easily on some surfaces that the cursor tends to slip from any pre-selected spot, meaning that repetitive clicking will require repositioning the cursor almost every time.
It boils down, then, to what the user wants it for.
